A Letter to my Supporters

My dearest supporters,

THANK YOU. I wouldn't be here without your love, support and prayers. I come to you with a full heart. I am so excited about the journey that lies ahead!

In just 96 days, (April 29) at 7:40 pm, I will board a plane to London where I will stay for a full day. On May 1, I will board my plane to Entebbe, Uganda. I will arrive in Uganda at 10:50 pm on the 1st of May.

I will be working as an intern in a Pediatric Neurosurgery hospital in Mbale, Uganda. My days will look like a normal work day - just like a work day you would imagine in the US. I will begin my days between 7 and 8 am and I will finish my days in the hospital between 3 and 5 pm each day. I will work Monday through Friday and have the weekends off. I will be shadowing a doctor and have been told I will be able to observe both regular clinic visits as well as OR procedures (Operating Room procedures.) I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!

I have been informed that on the weekends, I am free to do touristy things like rafting the Nile and a safari, perhaps! I can't wait to see what fun things I fill my time with.

I will be staying in a house with the other 5 students from Grand Canyon who are going on the trip with me. The house is equipped with wifi, but we will need converters for the outlets.

As I mentioned in my last post, I will be venturing out on a 9 day medical outreach while I'm there. This will involve going out into the surrounding villages and towns and administering IVs and medications to the people in need. During this time, we will stay in a hostel. (I'm particularly excited about this part.)

Once again, THANK YOU for being present in my life and for your prayers, love and support! I wouldn't be who I am or where I am without each of you. If you would like to donate to help me raise support for my incredible, life changing journey, please click the "Donate Here!" button in the upper right of your screen.

XOXO
